One question we often get is, “Should my son/daughter take the SAT or the ACT?”
Answering that carefully involves a discussion. But even before having a big discussion there’s something concrete and useful you can do – try out both tests. We have an easy and effective way to help you do that.
How it works:
- Contact us (Nick’s email: nick at transformationprep.com) to arrange a quick conversation to talk briefly about your student and to set things up. In some cases – not common – we can quickly give you a fairly strong suggestion w/r/t SAT vs ACT, such that you may not even want to do the diagnostic.
- You pay our emailed invoice for $100
- We give your student complete information about how to take the diagnostic
- Your student takes the test at home on a weekend morning (about 3 1/2 hours) and sends us back the answer sheet
- We score and analyze your student’s results
- We have a conversation (up to an hour) with you to discuss your options. This conversation is key; deciding on the right test is not just a matter of choosing the test your student scores higher on in the diagnostic. We like to meet via video conference (super easy) – that allows us to show you details from your student’s diagnostic – but we can talk by phone if you prefer. We do like to include the student in the conversation in some fashion: invested students do better with the tests.
Note:
We’ve worked with hundreds of SAT and ACT students.
We use official SAT and ACT questions, the best possible tools.
