Online class
- Online class with approximately weekly meetings
- Starts Tuesday, July 23 7:30 pm Eastern time (meetings will be Tuesdays, 7:30 pm)
- Last day to sign up Sunday, July 21
- Though guided, the student must do more on his/her own compared to 1-1 private help
- Strategy: what we want the essay to do; what it should be about
- Framework for starting, working on, and completing the essay (target final draft by Aug. 27)
- Assignments to hand in (required!)
- Written/video comments on homework; proofreading
- Encouragement for this difficult task
- Less expensive – $450
1-1 Private (online)
- 1-1 private using online meetings scheduled as needed
- Strongly suggested: start early! That makes for a better essay!
- Continual personal guidance
- Opening discussion: what we want from the essay
- Conversations to develop potential topics
- Identify the best topic and two alternates
- For the best topic, develop essay structure
- Conversations to flesh out key details
- Draft and review cycles
- Trial final draft; tweaked final draft
